Okay so we live on a steep cul-de-sac (apparently that means "bottom of bag" in French lmao, just had to google it to figure out the spelling ^_^) with a fairly steep driveway, it's great for wheeled things until you pass the point of no return and crash land in the neighbors yard face planting and kicking the neighbors' dog in the face with a roller skate, and nearly kicking yourself in the head as your feet continue to fly forward after your torso has stopped.... (THAT ONE WAS DONE BY MY SISTER...she was trying to come by all smoothly to meet the neighbor I was talking to, but apparently didn't think about how ridiculously steep our cul-de-sac is, and how far away down it the neighbor's house is... EPIC FAIL haha <3 you sis).
Anyway, where was I? Right, our hill is steep, and so we were cleaning out the garage and I found an old stadium chair type thing... it's like a 10"x10"x4" square that unfolds into a little seat to put on benches or bleachers or whatever to make it more comfortable. It's bright red (though covered in ridiculous amounts of dust and rust from years of sitting alone in a dark corner of our old garage haha), and my mom had asked me to throw it in the charity pile... or maybe the trash, I forget which, but I asked to keep it, and she said if I cleaned it up it could be mine, so I quickly agreed. I opened it and sat on it, and it is fairly comfy hehe, if a little small of course.
So then I'm just sitting in my chair, and then I start thinking about how I sometimes ride down big hills on my butt on my longboard....
Then BOOM it hits me lol, now I can ride it in STYLE AND COMFORT!!! So my longboard was not readily available, because it was locked in my car, so I look around and find my really jacked up shortboard that I don't actually ride, and though it has horribly shoddy bearings and one of the wheels almost doesn't turn at all, I figure that since the hill is so steep it won't matter.
I run over, grab my shortboard, put it at the top of the driveway, meanwhile my mom is looking at me with her familiar disapproval that says "Oh no, what now?" because she knows I'm crazy lol. Then she gives me a self-described look of chagrin (chagrin-- disquietude or distress of mind caused by humiliation, disappointment, or failure.... which is also French). After positioning my shortboard I hastily (gotta finish before my mom has the chance to tell me no lol) snatch up the chair, place it on the board and sit on it. I stop to look back at my mom with a fiendish grin on my face and she says "NO" in a voice that really means, oh my goodness you are so freaken crazy, but go ahead because this might be funny.
So I look back toward the street, and shove off (^_^)
It was awesome hahaha, I held onto the bottom of the seat to anchor my weight and steady my balance as I lean from side to side on my INCREDIBLY STIFF board, and gain speed going down the hill. My mom eventually does let her mom-ness out and tells me to stop, before I get to the super steep part, because I don't have a helmet and what not, and she thinks I'm gonna die lol. I bank a hard left and come back around toward the house until I run out of momentum. It was awesome hahaha, I felt like a total dork, but it was fun ^_^
So next thing, I run and find my siblings and make them do it too hahaha. Both Jordan and Katelynn were dubious when I told them to come over, (they know I'm crazy too). But once I did it in front of them for a demo they were pretty excited about it too. My brother deemed it the white trash roller-coaster and said it was especially fitting since I was wearing horrendously baggy sweats since I hadn't gotten dressed for the day lol. My sister was a little afraid of going down the hill on wheels, so I ran out to the cul-de-sac to play catcher in case she didn't succeed at the lean-turn technique haha. After her first successful run though, she was just as eager as the rest of us. It was a fun break from cleaning and organizing the garage. Now I'm trying to decide if I should actually mount the seat to my short board or not hahaha. Maybe I should just make my own cruiser hehe. Mount the seat to the board, perhaps make some sort of metal railings on the side so that if the board tips on a particularly steep hill, I don't absolutely die and lose all future use of my legs. If I can acquire a helmet, perhaps I'll deign to use one of those as well lol. Although... I'm pretty sure my mother would not be a fan of such a "dangerous" enterprise haha.
Needless to say, the White Trash Roller-Coaster was a massive success and super fun hehehe
(^_^)
Hope you enjoyed the post and be sure you DO try this at home!!
Love you all <3
